Japanese courses for children in Zurich

Learn Japanese for children aged 4 to 12

At Wordculture in the centre of Zurich, children aged 4 to 12 learn Japanese in small groups of no more than 6.

This ensures every child receives the individual attention they need to discover the new language with confidence and joy. Our native Japanese teacher brings not only the language but also the culture into the classroom, so that children learn Japanese in a playful way.

Why should children in Zurich learn Japanese?

Japanisch ist in Zürich eine seltene Sprachkompetenz, aber genau das macht sie so wertvoll. Die Schweiz pflegt enge Verbindungen zu Japan und in Zürich gibt es zahlreiche internationale Unternehmen. Therefore, anyone who starts learning a special language early gains a significant advantage.

Japanese has three writing systems. Decoding them trains concentration and analytical thinking in a way no European language system can. And anyone who learns Japanese also dives into a fascinating culture of manga, music, cuisine and history.

For Japanese-speaking families in the Zurich area, our course also offers the opportunity to strengthen the heritage language at written level, including hiragana, katakana and kanji.

During the summer holidays, we also offer a wide range of summer camps for children aged 4 to 15.

Children at this age are curious, energetic, and ready to discover the world. Our Japanese course for elementary school children builds on this natural urge to learn. In small groups of a maximum of 6 children, students begin learning Hiragana and Katakana, as well as their first Kanji. They form their own first sentences and encounter Japanese culture through stories, games, and creative projects. They learn without even realizing it.

Student review

I want my daughter to speak and write Japanese properly, so I enrolled her in a children’s course at Wordculture. The teacher is from Japan. My daughter loves her because they laugh a lot together. Now my daughter can already write in Japanese and read children’s books. My little Hana is incredibly proud of herself.
