Standard Spanish Course A1–C2

From "Buenos días" to discussing García Márquez: In our standard Spanish course, we guide you step-by-step through all proficiency levels. In the regular format, you meet twice a week for two lessons each—morning, noon, or evening—at the school, hybrid, or online. Vocabulary, grammar, listening, and speaking build systematically on one another, always with a focus on practical application and real-life situations.

Spanish Intensive Course A1–C2

Do you support Spanish-speaking clients? Are you aiming for a stay abroad in Argentina, Mexico, or Spain? Or do you want to do an Erasmus in Spain? Our intensive course will get you to your desired goal quickly, because with several course days per week, you'll focus on pronunciation, grammar, and especially free speaking. This way, you'll learn in a few weeks what would take months in a standard course.

Spanish Conversation Course B1–C2

As is often the case, your grammar might be solid, but as soon as native speakers talk fast, you get stuck? In our Spanish conversation course, the focus is on free speaking. You'll discuss current topics, practice spontaneous reactions, and gain exactly the confidence that only comes from real speaking.

Minimum requirement: completed A2

Business Spanish for Professionals B1–C2

Spanish is the language of the Latin American economic area and an increasingly sought-after skill in Zurich's interconnected business world. Our Business Spanish course specifically trains professional communication: moderating meetings, conducting negotiations, writing professional emails and reports, networking at trade fairs and events. We work with industry-specific vocabulary from finance, pharma, trade, and law, depending on your needs. This course is bookable from level B1 as private lessons.

DELE Exam Preparation Courses A1–C2

The DELE certificate (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera) is the globally recognized Spanish certificate from the Instituto Cervantes and serves as an entry ticket for applications, studies, or residence permits in Spanish-speaking countries. Spanish by level from A1 to C2 according to CEFR

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) divides language skills into six levels. At Wordculture, you will find the level that suits you. If you are unsure of your level, contact us personally for a free assessment and a free trial lesson.

A1: First Steps in Spanish

You will learn to introduce yourself, hold simple everyday conversations, and master basic situations: ordering in a café, asking for directions, or introducing yourself to colleagues. The first “¡Hola, me llamo…” is quickly learned, and Spanish is easier than you think.

A2: Spanish for Everyday Life

You communicate in familiar situations: shopping, traveling, and short conversations at the workplace. Vocabulary and grammar grow systematically, allowing you to express yourself in everyday situations using simple sentences.

B1: Becoming Independent

You can hold your own in everyday situations and talk about personal topics such as hobbies, travel, and experiences. B1 opens the doors to real conversations with native speakers.

B2: Confident and Fluent

At this level, you begin to understand more complex texts and can reproduce them logically and in detail when necessary. You can also converse spontaneously with Spanish speakers. Furthermore, you can write emails and reports and work productively in Spanish within international teams. B2 is considered the key level for career and university studies.

C1: Communicate Professionally

You formulate ideas in a sophisticated, structured, and nuanced way, even on abstract topics beyond everyday life. C1 corresponds to the level that many companies in Zurich require for management positions and international communication.

C2: Native-like Proficiency

You understand Spanish in all its facets and nuances and can speak, write, and negotiate spontaneously and without restriction at a near-native level.

Student review

I progressed from A2 to B1 in three months. The teacher was from Spain. She explained things very well and adapted the lessons to the needs of the group. On my last trip to Spain, I was even able to hold conversations in Spanish. I couldn’t have imagined that before.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Upon request, we also offer hybrid courses that combine in-person and online sessions. All our courses feature flexible booking. Especially in a hectic daily routine with home office, business trips, and unpredictable appointments, this model ensures that your learning progress doesn’t stall. During the initial consultation, we will look together at which combination works best for you.

For German speakers, Spanish is genuinely one of the most accessible languages, thanks to its regular pronunciation, clear grammatical structure and many similarities with French. Up to B1, progress is often faster than expected. From B2 it becomes more demanding but that is also precisely when Spanish gets really interesting. Either way, learning Spanish is always worth it.

For solid travel skills at an A2 level, 2-4 months of targeted instruction is often enough. Reaching this goal depends heavily on the learner and their dedication. An intensive course at Wordculture allows you to reach your goal even faster.

Wordculture offers Spanish courses as standard, intensive, evening, or private lessons, available at the school, hybrid, or online. Our courses adapt to your daily life, not the other way around. Talk to us so we can find a format that works for you.

Lessons at Wordculture are based on international standard Spanish, which is understood in both regions. Regional varieties from Andalusia to Chile do not play a major role in lessons, unless explicitly requested by participants.
